Page 3 of 4 Now create poly cube. Scale it, and deform it. Create two more. Refer to my poly modeling tutorials if you are not familiar with polys.
Now, turrets. Create Nurbs cylinder and deform its shape. Just go to hull selection mode and scale top hulls.
Then duplicate the top isopram (duplicate surface curves).
Duplicate that new curve, scale, duplicate move… Select all three curves and loft them.
Select the bottom one and make planar surface from it.
Create the base of the gun from poly cube.
Create nurbs cylinder and go to edit nurbs/rebuild surface Change U degree to 1. This will make the surface hard in U direction. This will be gun.
Then scale hulls, and add new ones using edit nurbs/insert isoprams
Ship is starting to take shape.
Now control tower. Create two curves, scale the top one a bit. Make sure that end cv’s lie on the axis (in my case Z), to do this use X for grid snap.
Then select two isoprams from surface and duplicate surface curves.
Then select curves and surface and go to edit nurbs/project curve on surface. Change mode to surface normal.
Then create vertical curve in the same way. Delete history on surface curves. Use selection mask to select just surface curves, delete history, then select source curves and delete them.
Select vertical curve on surface and duplicate it. Notice how curve is moving along surface.
