Page 3 of 3 Now lets make some pretty decorations on the submarine. Press “1” on your keyboard and select points by dragging and with the help of “ctrl” or “ctrl + shift”:
Click on the button next to “extrude” and select the dialog box and put in the next values:
Click the ok button. Now go to the “mash smooth” button in the “edit geometry” rollout. Get out of “sub vertex level”. Now there is still left to define where the particles will start. Switch to “sub level 2” and select these edges by dragging.
In the rollout “edit edges” click the “create shape” button. Now get out of sub level. Lets make a surface out of this: Press “h” on your keyboard and select the shape01 and from the modifier list select extrude and put in 1.0 level of extrusion, after that right click the object and from the dropdown menu select “conver to > convert to editable poly”. Now press 3 on your keyboard and select everything and in the “edit borders” rollout click the “cap” button. Yuck! A bunch of polygons sticking out.
Correcting this is simple, just press 4 and select these newly made polygons:
Now under the “edit geometry” rollout select the “slice plane” and click the button under Slice. What you have done is that you cut the borders that were connected (and that is no good). And now you got this.
Next thing is particle systems and lighting.
Have fun. |
